Motor Own Damage (Casco) Insurance

Protect your company vehicles and fleet against collision, fire, theft and natural catastrophes, and secure your business continuity.

What is Motor Own Damage (Casco)?

In short

Casco insurance is optional cover for damage to your own vehicle. It covers risks such as collision, fire, theft, malicious acts and, depending on the selected extensions, natural catastrophes.

Compulsory traffic insurance only covers damage to third parties, whereas casco protects your own vehicle. For companies, vehicles are an essential part of sales and field operations; a damaged or stolen vehicle can mean direct business loss.

Fleet casco policies insure many vehicles under one policy or umbrella with fleet-specific premium and claims terms. Deductibles, replacement vehicles, authorised repair shops and parts preferences can be tailored to your company's needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between casco and compulsory traffic insurance?

Traffic insurance is mandatory by law and only covers damage to third parties. Casco is optional and covers damage to your own vehicle, theft and other selected risks.

What is fleet casco and what are its advantages?

Fleet casco insures many company vehicles under one umbrella. Depending on fleet size and claims history it offers special premiums, shared deductibles and easier management.

How does choosing a deductible affect the premium?

With a deductible, the policyholder bears part of each claim. Policies with deductibles can be issued at lower premiums and are often preferred by large fleets to optimise costs.

Are vehicle-mounted equipment and carried goods included?

Standard casco covers the vehicle itself. Mounted equipment, accessories and carried goods require an extension or a separate cargo policy.

Scope of cover and limits are determined by the general and special conditions of the issuing insurer.
